Sister Love!

We love being by each other. This was taken during play time in our crib(when we should be sleeping) in the early morning hours! Savanna is on the left and Ella on the right. They totally sense one another and love talking to each other in their own language.

Play Time!

We have been busy growing and getting stronger this past month. The girls love their pink play mat and get their daily exercise on it. They especially love when they are on it together. Sometimes they even hold hands which makes me melt. It is the cutest thing in the world! Also, we have big news this month because Ella rolled over from her back to her tummy! The first time she did it she began to cry because she was scared. She wasn't sure what just happened. The second time she did it was like she was a pro. Savanna is rolling on her side and any day she too will roll over. She loves kicking her feet on the mat and looking at her sister. This week the girls are going to be three months old. I can't wait to see what they do next!

Our First Week Home!

The Girls have completed their first week home and life has totally changed but for the better. Already I wonder where the time has gone? It has been a blur since they have been home. Luckily, I have wonderful family and friends to help out during this first month. We definitely have our hands full and appreciate all the help! This week the girls had their first photo shoot with mommy and her favorite satin pink blankets. The girls are too cute! I can't believe how big they are getting already. More pics to come!

The Girls Are Finally Home!

Our little girls are finally home. It has been a long emotional road this past month and half since the girls were born. Daily trips to the hospital are now in the past. They are getting stronger and bigger every day and are so precious. Ella was the first to come home a week ago and Savanna came home this past Sunday. Mommy and Daddy are enjoying every minute but are also very tired. Our little girls seem to be night owls. Currently, we are trying to get the girls on the same eating schedule which is happening quickly. They seem to follow each other in so many ways. They are already communicating to each other by grunting back and forth across bassinets. Who knows what they are planning but I think it is the cutest thing. I am so happy to have them home and am looking forward to our first month together!

Daddy's First Father's Day!

We spent Ron's first Father's Day in the NICU suite. The girls were moved to their own room which was very spacious. The girls were happy to greet their daddy. Ron even got to hold both of them for the first time. It was a special day for both Ron and I. You could see how proud Ron is to be a dad and to experience his first Father's Day. Of course we wish the girls were at home so we could spend the whole day together but we cherish the time we have. The girls got Ron some Black Hawks gear including a championship t-shirt and hat. Daddy was very pleased with his gifts. We couldn't have asked for a better visit!

Nursery Pics

Here are some pictures of our nursery. It is almost finished. We just have a few things we need to do to make it complete.

Annoucing The Arrival Of The Torres Twins!

(Savanna is on top and Ella is on the bottom)

The girls are here! The girls were born on June 2nd at 2:46 am. through a c-section. Ella Grace was 3 pounds, 8 ounces, 17 inches long and Savanna Dawn was 3 pounds, 8 ounces, 16 inches long. They are both a miracle and I am so blessed to have them. I can't believe it has already been two weeks since the girls arrival. I expected the girls to come in June but I never expected the girls to come on June 2nd. After two weeks of hospital bedrest, labor pains on and off, and thunderstorms which caused power outages daily they arrived safely. They are currently still at the hospital because they need to learn how to suck, swallow, and breath at the same time along with gaining weight. The girls are strong already and are learning fast. Ron and I visit them daily and look forward to the many visits where we can hold them and talk to them. At the hospital, I got to give Savanna a bath for the first time, change both girls diapers, and feed Ella a bottle. It was so exciting to be able to do all of things with my girls! Each day their little faces are changing and they are starting to gain weight and fill out. Currently both girls are 3 pounds, 13 ounces. We are expecting the girls to come home at the beginning of July but time will tell. While we wait, we are trying to prepare the condo little by little. Ron and I are looking forward to the day when we get to bring our little girls home.
