Daddy's First Father's Day!

We spent Ron's first Father's Day in the NICU suite. The girls were moved to their own room which was very spacious. The girls were happy to greet their daddy. Ron even got to hold both of them for the first time. It was a special day for both Ron and I. You could see how proud Ron is to be a dad and to experience his first Father's Day. Of course we wish the girls were at home so we could spend the whole day together but we cherish the time we have. The girls got Ron some Black Hawks gear including a championship t-shirt and hat. Daddy was very pleased with his gifts. We couldn't have asked for a better visit!

Nursery Pics

Here are some pictures of our nursery. It is almost finished. We just have a few things we need to do to make it complete.

Annoucing The Arrival Of The Torres Twins!

(Savanna is on top and Ella is on the bottom)

The girls are here! The girls were born on June 2nd at 2:46 am. through a c-section. Ella Grace was 3 pounds, 8 ounces, 17 inches long and Savanna Dawn was 3 pounds, 8 ounces, 16 inches long. They are both a miracle and I am so blessed to have them. I can't believe it has already been two weeks since the girls arrival. I expected the girls to come in June but I never expected the girls to come on June 2nd. After two weeks of hospital bedrest, labor pains on and off, and thunderstorms which caused power outages daily they arrived safely. They are currently still at the hospital because they need to learn how to suck, swallow, and breath at the same time along with gaining weight. The girls are strong already and are learning fast. Ron and I visit them daily and look forward to the many visits where we can hold them and talk to them. At the hospital, I got to give Savanna a bath for the first time, change both girls diapers, and feed Ella a bottle. It was so exciting to be able to do all of things with my girls! Each day their little faces are changing and they are starting to gain weight and fill out. Currently both girls are 3 pounds, 13 ounces. We are expecting the girls to come home at the beginning of July but time will tell. While we wait, we are trying to prepare the condo little by little. Ron and I are looking forward to the day when we get to bring our little girls home.

The Nursery!

We have been very busy preparing for our little girls arrival. The room is painted and looks great! We decided to paint the room a light green color. Ron did a great job in a short amount of time. The baby furniture was picked up this week. I love the white furniture in the room. It brought a smile on my face to see it in the nursery for the first time. The cribs are in as well but still need to be put together. I will post pictures soon! My first shower is this Sunday. Ron and I are looking forward to seeing everyone. It feels like I just registered and now we are attending the first shower. Time is moving super fast lately. I can't believe May is here already. I only have two months left of pregnancy until the little girls are here! I can't wait to meet them for the first time. Although I already love them to pieces. I love feeling all of those kicks and going to the ultra sound appointments to see their growth. They will be here before we know it!

Registry

Ron and I survived going to Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby to register for the twins! After several trips and numerous adjustments online I think we are done. Ron was sure a trooper through it all. He is so excited to become a daddy and very involved in my pregnancy. Our goal now is to clean out our second bedroom. Up to this point it has been used for many purposes including an office, exercise room and storage space. Little by little we are making progress and I love imagining what it will look like when it becomes our nursery. Just last week Ron and I picked out the paint we will use for the room. We are planning to have the room cleared out by mid April. Then we will begin to paint. I can't wait!
